@nellz4estfairyz Choose semi-ripe stems with several leaf nodes.
Make a clean cut below a leaf node using sterilized shears.
Remove lower leaves to prevent rot.
Apply rooting hormone to the cut end.
Plant the cutting in a moist potting mix with at least one node buried. Select a young, flexible stem.
Make a small incision or strip some bark to encourage rooting.
Pin the stem down to the soil with a node buried. Provide bright, indirect light and consistent moisture.
Keep the soil moist but not soggy.
Consider using a plastic dome to maintain high humidity. Happy Growing!
Whoa! That’s so cool! All I know with Ivy is that they loooove spider mites so I’d be careful. You could probably prop in water or directly into soil….. let’s see what anyone else says!
@RealSimpleMama good thing I sprayed it down after I brought it home!
@Ms.Persnickety ok! Thank you! I will try this.
@nellz4estfairyz You have made my day thank you so much for recognizing my efforts!
@Ms.Persnickety it was such a long strand that I actually made it into multiple cuttings and put half into water and half over top of some damp Magnum Moss over some soil. Fingers crossed! 🀞🏻
