I am new to growing tomatos! I have a cage and baby plant...
Depends on if itβs a determinate or indeterminate plant. Is it in the ground or a pot? A determinate will only grow to a predetermined height, with usually 1 good flush of tomatoes. An indeterminate will grow as high as you let it (cage or not). I would recommend topping those off (if in ground) to around 4/5 feet, if they are still producing. If in a pot, sooner. Either way, determinate will decide for you. βΊοΈ. As Judy said, be sure and snip off all the suckers. They will suffocate your plant, while expending energy, that youβll need for the blooms/ fruit. Some crushed eggshells mixed in with the top couple of inches of soil are very beneficial. Happy gardening.
