What plants have you killed? 😭

Question

I thought it would be interesting to start a conversation about the plants we've most had problems with that ended up in #plantgraveyard. 😭 Let us remember the good times and the bad times of our long lost plant babies together.

For me I've lost:
- #SensitivePlant (Our house was just too cold for it and I learned it too late.)
- #PurpleVelvetPlant I am currently nurturing a pup but my original one got too cold and watered too much. 😭
- #callalily I tried transplanting it but it never grew. 😔

Those are the most recent. Over the years I've lost a number of other plants, a lot of which were acquired from losing loved ones over a decade ago. Some I'm hoping to add back to my collection again, someday.

So far I have killed 2 Pinguiculas - they are a bit fragile & are usually shipped bare root, so I severely manhandled them & they slowly dissolved into nothing 😩 luckily I’ve done really well with their replacements 🥳

I killed one of my wishlist orchids too 😭 I don’t know what I did wrong & I suspect it could’ve been some sort of rot. It currently has roots & is growing a tiny leaf out of the husk of its crown but I don’t have much hope for it 😢

I also killed a basil plant & rosemary plant. That was sort of malicious lmao for some reason I just didn’t want to water them. I saw them dying & I was like, “meh!” But! To my credit, I got another basil plant & it’s doing amazing!

So far none, but I almost killed my money tree from repotting errors. It has since bounced back and is producing new leaves. Here is the recovered tree

A zebra haworthia. No idea how I did it when I have brought a calathea, string of pearls and string of turtle back from the brink of death, but one day the stem rot set in. Still trying to figure out how it’s tiny pot with a drainage hole managed to retain that much moisture after one watering.

I also "killed" my string of pearls but after watching my fave YouTube plant guru I was encouraged to leave it and hope for the best, and it's now thriving!

Just said goodbye to a #CrispyWaveFern . I didn’t know  you should NOT get water in the center “rosette” 😬🙅🏻‍♀️ also I think I overwatered in general and roots could never bounce back even after repotting

Just recently I lost my sensitive plant and my sweetheart Hoya… 😭 The sensitive plant I watered a day too late, and I have absolutely no idea what happened to my Hoya!! She suddenly started yellowing and turning brown near the bottom- still don’t know why.

@tango the same thing happened to my sweetheart Hoyas! All I could figure is they got some cold drafts from the front door but all my other plants in the same area were fine except those 2 and they died on the same timeline.

I killed Bella 😭 I’m so embarrassed that I haven’t removed her from my list yet. Rip Bella. There should be a tombstone 🪦 feature because she is long gone and DEAD. I knew this would happen.
