Help me make her thrive!

I got it in a plant subscription my partner got for me and I am just struggling with making it thrive. I've had it for a few months now and it just looks pathetic. Of all my dozens of plants, this is the one I can't seem to make flourish. I've got it set in the recommended distance from a window, I water it regularly as the well-draining perlite heavy-ish soil dries out, and it just looks so sad.
I haven't fertilized it, yet. Should I try that? I always worry about burning them with too much fertilizer. Would that help? Thoughts? TIA

Hi, Rouni! This plant craves humidity (which is good cause you're in the South). I would step up the watering becuase the perlite allows the water to run through the soil quickly.

I have found that these plants like a little more moisture than other houseplants.
I feed mine with fertilizer at half the recommended strength every month or so and it's been doing good - it shot out a new stalk that's taller than the rest of the plant! I'm just using a fertilizer for fruit & vegetables plants since I figured it was close enough to an even ratio (NPK 18-18-21).

Also I have mine off to the side of a grow light - maybe yours needs a touch bit more light? Not directly but just a little closer to the light source. I mist it occasionally whenever I remember.

Lastly, I have it in a good quality general potting soil that's good for a range of plants - it has water retention but also drains well. Its roots are a bunch of tubers that store water so it's ok if the soil dries out a bit between waterings.
