Growth on Philodendron βDark Lordβ
So I've had a Philodendron erubescens 'Dark Lord' for a few months now. It's planted in my aroid mix and was received as a cutting. I recently (due to an accident) had to repot it but got to take a look at the roots and they are well-developed and good looking.
The thing is, it doesn't put out new leaves or shoots. It's form is just as in the picture: one petiole and one big leaf.
Watering, light, and fertilizer are on schedule. I'm just wondering if this is a slow grower or something.
Anyone with opinions?

As @Araceae rightly asked, no new leaf will grow without a node.
@Gustavo in my experience with cuttings it is often the case that they focus on roots predominately before shifting gears to grow leaves. If youβre like me it can be nerve wracking because I think about how inefficient it must be having so few leaves for photosynthesis. I have a 4β anthurium that has focused on roots so much it fills out a 10β planter but has two leaves lol. Have you tried a fertilizer with a higher nitrogen content like dynagrow foliage pro which has been rebranded as super thrive? I would also try using a cloche or something to boost the humidity around it. I have been wanting to research so called biologics (fox farms offers some) but havenβt really gotten into that yet but it sounds promising
@SvelteKingfern how can you have a leaf on a petiole without a node for it to have grown out from to begin with or am I missing something ?
I'll explain it to you @TexanExpat . People sometimes call the leaf stalk a petiole. It happened on Greg. The leaf like that (without a node) will never grow new leaves.
I see. If you sever the cutting so that you only have the parts of the leaves depicted in your diagram then it would lack a node. But it would also not be a stem cutting and I wouldnβt know where the roots would be coming from. @SvelteKingfern
The roots can grow from a leaf like that, but only roots and no leaf @TexanExpat
In the whole circumstances it is prudent to ask whether there is a node, or not. Don't you think @TexanExpat ?
@SvelteKingfern I agree with you I just didnβt know if I was understanding the discussion so I asked. I didnβt know roots would grow from leaves. Propogation is always so frustrating unless itβs a Burle Marx philo lol
Let's see what answer @Gustavo is going to give about the node, shall we? @TexanExpat
