Cut this guy?
More leavesβ¦
Should I just make the chop on this leaf? Itβs the only one doing this. Part of it looks reddish, but it may be the lighting.

Hey Kat, how many other leaves does the plant have? If there are more you can cut the leaf but I agree with @Junglecreature that maybe you could just let it be till it deteriorates further as itβs still green and helping the plant photosynthesise.
That said, sometimes I do trim or remove leaves with brown spots just for aesthetic reasons when the rest of the plant is stable or big enough to not really care. I do avoid that during winters when the light levels are lower, since each leaf contributes to keeping the plant going. Hope this helps. Happy Growing

@Junglecreature @Plantoholic thank you both! It has 2 other leaves right now and a new one thatβs starting to unfurl. Iβll leave it for now until itβs halfway gone and the new leaf is open.
Do you think itβs doing it because of an issue or just because itβs old?

I have found that with my alocasia they tend to loose a leaf when they bring on a new leaf but I have seen people who have had theirs for a long time evidently keep their leaves. The joke is that if you have more then three leaves on your alocasia it's a miracle. I have one with six leaves so there is hope! π€
@TattedHibiscus Alocasia generally support only 3 leaves till they mature. But my oldest leaf just yellows and dies out. This could be because of one of many reasons related to over or underwatering, low humidity, sunburn etc, hard to tell without knowing more about the conditions etc. But if the rest of the plant is doing fine I donβt think itβs much to worry about. Keep a close watch on the others.
@TattedHibiscus I completely agree with @Plantoholic and @Junglecreature great advice.
@Junglecreature oh yay! Lol Iβm hoping thatβs the reason π
I didnβt know that π now I have something to look forward to try doing π
