What’s up with Citrine?!

🌵 He’s getting really round…is that normal??
🪴 He’s in succulent soil, so I’m not surprised that the soil drains quickly. I’m just confused as to when I start to water again. His soil gets dry in about a week, but when I water him he’s squishy afterwards. I started at giving him 236 ml and then went to 118 ml and now I only give him 59 ml. Help? Why does he still get so squishy?
🌱 there’s also little white spots on him?? #concernedplantparent #SucculentSquad #CactusClique

It seems like you may be overwatering your cactus! Cacti are not like regular plants. They hold and store water in their bodies until they run out. You do not need to water your soil every single time it gets dry. This will cause your cactus to rot.

Cacti should be watered every 10-14 days. Your cactus should not feel squishy after watering, please do not water frequently or you will lose your cactus.

Your soil draining is a good sign, so keep it that way, just don’t water every week to prevent rot!
Just from what little I have read about them, to my understanding your cactus is still receiving too much water. An article I read on cactus care says the most common reason for a cactus to get squishy is overwatering
