What's this fuzzy slime that is in the soil of my Calathe...

I woke up to this thing in the soil of my favorite plant. Does anyone know what it is or how to remove it? Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š #planttherapy #pestcontrol

It's just some green mold; it is not dangerous to your plant and can be removed by scooping it out. However, it is a sign that you might be overwatering or that the soil is staying too wet for too long, which could lead to root rot in the future if not corrected.

@PlantsForFun just refrain from watering your plant until the top few inches of soil is dry and that should correct the problem and prevent chances of your plant developing root rot
