What is this?!?!

So what is the hole in citrine…it’s hard, not soft and I cleaned the dirt out of it for a better look…and idk. #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #PincushionCactus

If it’s hard, it’s a scar. If it’s squishy/mushy, it’s rot.

It looks like a scar. Possibly damage or a small spot of rot.

I don't know for sure @ChaosPlains but I would pull it up and check for root rot below dirt line. Something similar happened to me.

@ChaosPlains check out the little stones on top of the soil, they might keep the moisture in the soil for too long letting the plant develop rot. I had a plant with little pebbles around it and the soil never seemed to dry out, I eventually removed the pebbles and the soil gets a lot dryer quicker!
