Advice please!

I just picked up this pretty girl.i couldn’t pass her upπŸ™ˆ she’s getting a new leaf. But she’s SOAKED and it seems like she’s getting root rot? Should I let her adjust? Or repot her ? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Monstera #MonsteraMob #monsterathaiconstellation #ThaiConstellation #ThaiConstellationMonstera
I usually repot my monsteras in a chunky mix almost right away if getting them in nursery soil. It’s good for nursery conditions but not usually good for our home conditions. Especially if she’s soaked, it might take a while for her to dry out. You can use that time to your advantage and check all the roots too for any mushy bits!
@ModestCoconut13 and just wanted to add that I do this for monsteras because they’re beasts and can handle an immediate repot. There are some plants I would recommend waiting to adjust first , because they’re more delicate. But monsteras πŸ‘Œ go for it 😁
I also repot Monstera right away, and I would definitely repot this gal. Get her the chunky soil and make sure the roots aren't soggy. They tend to blast them with water, with their nursery soil mix at the big boxes. Recipe for a muddy disaster πŸ˜• I agree with @DreamMachine they are pretty hearty plants!
I recently noticed my monstera took a stand still as though in shock. Come to find out I was drowning it. I also noticed I packed my soil too tight. So I loosened the soil, took some out and also took care of the root rot. Now my little guy is thriving and noticing the leaf that was taking too long to come out is finally coming up. Also allow your soil to dry 50% or when lifting the pot its light weight compared to being watered. Then its time to water again. Hope this helps!
