Okay so just most Y or N? Idk. I’ve heard completely different opinions constantly for completely opposite reasons and that makes no sense! Okay, I know in my experience they get dirt stuck down in the bottom,
but the whole point, in general, is in dirt, water hypothetically, and absolutely for in reality, gets absorbed.
That was worded weird. Basically does it actually get sucked up when the plant wants or does it take longer cus it gets clogged? And in general I understand how the plant takes what it wants w bottom watering but ho would this work.
Like does it lick it like a hamster? I see both sides but understand neither.
So what’s your opinion?

@MamaLinne exactly! But I’m always like is it even coming out? Even if it’s trickling. I don’t anybody knows what’s up w those.
personally believe science is involved here because gravity does not give a sh!t if your plant wants water or not it must go down at the very least until your soil is waterlogged. 🤷🏻♂️ that makes sense to me but also if your soil can hold it and may hold more if they can’t, it may not hold it and they just run out the bottom. I’m not 100% sure either.
This is also on the assumption that we’re talking about those glass ball thingys with a long tube “that breaks” that you put water in and put it in your pot to supposedly water your plant. If not idk

@OhGollyItsJolly yeah that’s what I’m talking about. There’s all different shapes on Amazon but still mainly Aquaglobes were like the first. Anything w a big top attached to a long stick to “water” it. I thought that too like how would the plant stop the water from just all coming out. But my thing was the wet dirt always clogged the end of the stem part and then the water stops coming down.
@SageSolidGoldd in my opinion the better solution is terra-cotta spikes. Yes, they make a terra-cotta pot style like fertilizer spike for fruit trees, you just fill it up with water or let it catch rain & the soil absorbs it slowly. 
I learned from an Amish man once that he would plant broken terra-cotta pots about a foot underground in his garden , because when it was a drought, they would hold the moisture in the soil longer.

@OhGollyItsJolly oh that sounds cool breaking it up. I had one that was like an aqua globe ish but you put in then put a bottle in it. At first it looked like it worked good. But then it got moldy.
I think what u said would work tho. And a good way to reuse a broken pot for something.

@SageSolidGoldd yeah I wasn’t saying the guy broke his terra-cotta pots just to put them in his garden I was saying that’s how they recycled the broken terra-cotta pots & how they make use of them.
The ones that I have seen just for holding water look kind of like I would say an ice cream cone and just put them in the soil and fill them full of water.
