Virus??

My plant had a fungus gnat issue which I assumed to be the problem but I haven’t seen any gnats in a few weeks and I’m worried if she may have a virus? Most of the leaves die before reaching a good size and the plant is leggy. it’s a chocolate cherry coleus and about 6 feet from a west window.. Leaves are losing color and some are deformed. Could it be a virus or is it simply the gnats making my plant weak? (Ignore the brown stuff it’s just cinnamon.) The plant has also gained about an inch in height but the new growth is very unhealthy looking too and I’m wondering if I should cut it. #PlantAddict #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantTherapy #NewPlantMom #PlantCorner #PestControl #TropicalPlants #help #helpneeded #diagnose #Coleus
So to me the last two pictures show the new growth as being healthier, the parts that aren’t so healthy you could clean up. How long ago did you treat the gnat problem?
@Idplantthat I used insecticidal soap 3 times (each a week apart with the last time I believe 2 or 3 weeks ago). Also weekly cinnamon and only bottom watering which has helped a ton. I’m hoping they’re gone but I’m waiting a month at least until I’m sure 🀞
So I’d say wait for that month and just watch and see how it goes. Then I’d see if the problem is something different or was just those gnats πŸ˜‰ but it sounds like that was your plan before!
Hi @Uzi 😊 Part of it could be the gnats and the treatment for gnats. Get some sticky traps to make sure to get all the gnats in the end.

As for the legginess and the lesser color on the leaves I will say it is lack of light. Coleus typically change their color depending on light (and nutrients). All that white tells me it probably wants a little more light. But be careful, they need to get used to more light gradually as the white burn quickly. It will also grow less leggy with more light. Also, if you pinch the top now and then it will grow more bushy😊

In my experience they react really well to grow-lights, it doesn't need to be natural light. Here are some pics of one of my plants in more and less light (yes it is the same plant😊).
Thanks guys! I’ll definitely look into some good grow lights and sticky traps. I was also thinking about diatomaceous earth as well πŸ€”
