Yellow Calla Lily

Hi! I recently bought a Calla Lilly and watered when I took it home. Within this past week it has been turning almost all yellow along with the leaves falling off. I bottomed watered it a few days ago and and soaking it again today. Unsure if it’s possible to bring back to life or what to do.
9ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Calla Lilly’s like moist but not waterlogged soil. I would check on the roots to make sure there is no rot going on. If there is ,cut away all black, brown, or mushy roots and treat with hydrogen peroxide. It doesn’t sound like an underwatering situation but possibly overwatering. I recently read an interesting article saying not to cut away yellowing leaves until the are absolutely ready to come off. This lets the plant take all the nutrients from those leaves and doesn’t open up unnecessary wounds. So I would leave the leaves as is for now.
@Okera Calls lilies naturally lose their leaves at the end of the summer after getting all the nourishment from the leaves that they can. That provides the energy that gets stored in the bulb to shoot up the next spring and have pretty leaves and flowers for the spring and summer. Leave it in good light while it is losing its leaves and when the leaves are all brown you can cut them off at the soil line. Then store the pot with the bulb somewhere cool and dark for the winter, like a garage, shed, or basement. Then put it in the sun in the spring and start watering again but not enough to rot the bulb. Water when the soil is mostly dry. When it gets sun and water again it will come up in the spring or summer and start over. Bulbs are fun, you can directly see life renewing itself. Let us know how it goes. Welcome to Greg!
