Has anybody done this before?

So I was just outside and I saw in one of the pots that I had last year small little tree is growing in the pot. Has anybody ever took a wild tree and tried to grow it as a garden plant? #Question #Trees #wildtree #naturefinds #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PlantCorner
Sounds like you’ve got what’s called a ‘volunteer’ plant. It’s taking advantage of a good spot to grow! You certainly can keep it in the pot and see what happens. Definitely keep it outside. And if it has any leafy growth you can try Google Lens or the Greg plant identifier to find out what it is and how to care for it. Fun! 😃
@DRGT I love that! I do get volunteers in my garden constantly, but I have to be on the look out, as I’ve found little tiny oak trees…..9 inches away from my foundation 😅 “Let’s move you to a better spot lil buddy”
@DreamMachine Yeah that would not turn out to well with your foundation lol
The summer after moving into our new house I found a small tree growing, I staked it and cared for it until spring when I transplanted it into a pot. Now I’ve got a lovely potted crepe myrtle that blooms beautifully every summer.

It either came from a seed from the neighbour’s tree, or was a leftover root from when the former house was demolished and the property cleared of all trees.

Either way, I got one of my favourite trees just randomly!
@FamedGymealily Im pretty sure this is a maple tree, we have alot around here.
