Is this color normal?

I've had thease dog roses for a couple years now and they've been thriving on the edge of my kitchen garden, but I noticed this year that some of the new foliage has turned this burgundy.

We've had a couple cooler nights here after a hot spell, so it might just be normal, but I honestly cant remember if this happened to them before. But I feel like I've seen similar things on other rosebushes.

I haven't changed what I am putting in the soil, just bloodmeal and repels-all to keep vermin away, although this is the first year I've done cedar mulch.

I don't dislike the color, and as long as they're healthy I'm ok with the change, I just worry this is a plant distress signal that means they need help.

Welcome to Greg, Summer! I find that newer growth on my roses + sun = burgundy leaves. I believe they are just sunstressed. All the older growth is green. (:
Yup. Totally normal! And beautiful right?!??๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ
