2” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago
@DoughtyTutsan52 Hi Karen and welcome to the #SucculentSquad #GregGang
It does look like your panda plant could use a little bit more elbow room. Use well draining succulent soil and a terracotta pot. Feel free to place multiple succulent varieties into one pot to reduce the number of pots you have to water.
Happy growing!
@DoughtyTutsan52 There are no dumb questions! You can absolutely move it to a bigger pot. When repotting a Panda Plant (Kalanchoe tomentosa), you should choose a pot that is dimensionally wider (1–2 inches larger in diameter) rather than significantly deeper. Kalanchoes have relatively shallow, fibrous root systems that prefer to spread horizontally, and a pot that is too deep can retain excess moisture, leading to root rot.
@Ms.Persnickety and @YammieOf3 - Thank you so much! I was considering joining my succulents together as I’ve been seeing that online, and in swallower pots too, so that also answers my other questions, lol. Do you prefer a particular brand of succulent soil? They are in regular soil right now so I definitely want to make these changes to get all the babies happy!
@DoughtyTutsan52 I like the repotme succulent soil. And it comes in different amounts! I don’t know where you live but it’s available on line and some are also available on Amazon, but not all the different soils.
@Ms.Persnickety awesome, thank you!
