Should I separate them?

They’re getting awfully crowded…. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #Drosera #DroseraSpatula #SpoonLeavedSundew #cpclubthursday #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub

Sure. I don't have any carnivorous plants, but its good to give it a repot. Since it's a carnivore, the entire plant might begin to eat - or fight - tooth and nail for the insects! Lol.
@Catplantaddict it won’t grow dew for some reason, probably not enough humidity, but it won’t fight! πŸ˜‚ I got one and it multiplied into like sixteen. I just hope they won’t cannibalize each other like air plants do.
It would be hilarious that this happened 2 seconds later:

The sundew: CANNIBALIZEEEEE!!!!! *proceeds to eat the others*
@Fireplace Hi Allison, I would recommend separating them as it will allow the individual plants to thrive and not compete. Just be careful with the root systems as they can be a bit sensitive.
It’s not uncommon for sundews to be in tight little groups like this but they eventually form separate plants from their rhizomes splitting
@Catplantaddict the original plant actually died… these are plantlets that grew from the dead leaves. I can’t believe they grew so big. They probably cannibalized the original plant. (Also, do you know Wings of Fire?)
@Seymour I was actually attempting to separate them a couple months ago but they literally wouldn’t budge. I set it aside in fear of damaging them. How can I separate them without killing them?
That's a lot! Seperate them
@Fireplace Yes, I actually do know about Wings of Fire. It's part of the reason why I named myself Leafwing lol.
@Fireplace It is difficult to say from here but the important thing is that each separate plant needs its own rhizome (the body that sits under the surface) so provided the plant is separated enough you just pull them apart. The key is to tease the roots apart gently and if there is any cutting needed, use sterilized equipment. Sometimes a small spoon (ironic, I know) can help to divide the plants. All the best with it. Now is a good time as it is out of the growing season.

@Catplantaddict I love wof!! I have like every book. Actually, I read book 13 and had to get some plants…
@Fireplace cool! I read only the first arc, book 6, and the third arc (excluding book 15)
@Catplantaddict book 15 isn’t really the best the more you read it. I suggest finding an article and reading it for free if you can. It does explain a lot of the lore, though. I’m also annoyed that book 16 will come out sometime 2028. 😩 At least, that’s what I saw a lot on Reddit lol. Also what’s your favorite tribe? Mine are SeaWings, sandwings, SilkWings, HiveWings, and skywings. I have a lot!
@Fireplace I love pretty much all the tribes. I'm super good at drawing them, too. Here's a pic of a Hive-Rain I drew.
@Catplantaddict that’s really good! I’m not a good drawer but I think I’m good at drawing RainWings. I’ll upload a pic in a little bit.
@Fireplace I am good at drawing Rainwings, too.
@Catplantaddict I draw them the graphic novel way πŸ˜‚
@Fireplace it's kinda like what I do too.
