Please help! I can't figure out why the leaves have start...
8β pot with drainage
Last watered 3 days ago
Itβs hard to see the plant with the pink lights but I do see what you mean about the droop. Have you checked the condition of the plants roots? I would start there if not. Remove the plants roots from the soil, inspect the roots to ensure there is no root rot which can cause droopy leaves and also kill the plant. If you have black, brown or mushy roots, they need to be removed and the remaining roots need to be cleaned with a peroxide/water solution. Your 8 inch pot also seem a little large for your plants size so you might consider reducing the pot size to avoid potential overwatering and more rot. I have two pretty big Rubyβs and they are in 8 and 10 inch pots. I water weekly, give plant food once a month and have them both by grow lights.
@Shells_Garden here are pics of my baby. I'm outside repotting him now, any pointers or ideas? I put him in a smaller pot with fresh soil (perlite, orchid bark, and potting mix) so fingers crossed π€πΎ
@SmartSweetflag1 sorry I missed this yesterday. Your roots look good so thatβs a good sign. Also your soil mix seems like a good choice. Now just give him a few days to settle into the new pot. Heβs probably in a little shock from being repotted a few times recently but heβll come back.
Is that pic with a grow light on her? Even though they can stand and even take direct sunlight because they have their own "sunscreen that protects the leaves from direct sunlight and actually turns them red when getting direct sun. My Ruby Ficus started out small like your's but that young too intense of a grow light.can cause leaf dropping. Some leaves will naturally point down as she is positioning for maximum sun exposure to her leaves. Not much water chunky soil, and she should thrive.Ms Ruby lives in front of a south Eastern Facing window so she gets good Morning direct Sun.and as u.can see is thriving.
