Transferring propagation

#GregGang I need help figuring out what size pot to put my propagated painted lady, I purchased this as a personal experience. All suggestions are appreciated #PlantAddict #PropagationStation #NewPlantMom roots">#roots
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
I would start no larger than 4" to help alleviate from a root rot issue. Clear pots help me keep tabs on root growth so I can always be ready to transfer up a size when ready
The general rule of thumb with most tropicals is you want a pot 1-2" bigger than the root ball πŸ’š it works with them all really... It's not about the spread of the foliage, but making sure that the roots have enough room to grow but not SO much that your plant will divert all it's energy into root production rather than leaves (which happens if you put them in too BIG a pot). I'd guess a 3-4" pot would be ideal.

They like terracotta but it's not essential, mine is super happy in her plastic nursery pot (you just have to be extra careful when watering πŸ˜‚)

You got some beautifully healthy roots there though! She'll be fine whatever you do tbh πŸ˜‚πŸ₯° great job!! πŸ‘πŸ‘xx
For aroid cuttings that size I use these taller aroid tower pots in basically a tall 3” (size small): https://www.etsy.com/listing/1452656005/
I would say place her in a 3”-4”pot to give her room to grow
@Hails42 it’s such a healthy looking rooted cutting! Excited for you to share this one’s growth πŸ’š
