What is going on with my Taciveria?
I recently just noticed that Gojo, my Taciveria ‘Tasha’, has started developing this strange affliction on his leaves. He seems otherwise pretty healthy, other than one shriveling leaf. He is watered maybe once a week 1/2. I really hope it’s not scale. Any ideas on what it could be? Hello again Cameryn, thank you for your response ☺️ Don’t panic, white spot is very treatable if it hasn’t completely overtaken the plant! I’d recommend pruning off all the affected leaves and administering either a pre-made diluted copper fungicide solution (one part fungicide to every ten parts water) available from any local nursery or even some supermarkets or a homemade solution (1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon of non-detergent liquid soap to every 4 litres / 1 gallon of water) via spray bottle to the remaining leaves once weekly until Gojo’s condition has noticeably improved. Make sure you move it out of any direct light before applying either of these solutions though to avoid sunburn. The next time Gojo requires watering, ensure you only water around the base of the plant so as not to dilute the fungal treatment to an ineffective level. Hi Cameryn! May I ask if you’ve tried gently wiping off the spots with a damp cloth? The way to determine its condition is whether or not the white spotting comes off upon utilising this method; if it does, it’s likely the beginnings of a mealybug or scale colony establishing itself, however if it doesn’t and has become a part of the surfaces of the leaves this is a fungal disease known as white spot. If you’re able to test this at all I’d be happy to help however I can and go through the necessary treatment methods. Both of these are unfortunately common occurrences with succulents but can easily be remedied if caught early 🪴
@signorebean Hi Tristan! I have tried that, the spots do not come off if I wipe the leaves😞. What are the treatment methods for White Spot? Thank you so much for your help, btw❤️
