Eggshells for Plants!!! Day 1 #ScienceWithGreg

Hey #GregGang! I know #PothosPack are getting lots of love recently for their rooting power when propagating but I also thought about sharing another little experiment to help my other plants ✨ thrive ✨ - using eggshells as plant food!

I actually tested this with a basil plant earlier this summer and it GREW so I’m wondering to see how these plants will do πŸ€” I know that this may be more common knowledge but I thought I would share just in case you guys didn’t know about it cause we are all #PlantingOnABudget πŸ˜‚
@dreamlettuce I would love to see your thoughts on this!!

Eggshells are great for calcium hungry plants like tomatoes, peppers and aubergine! Will be interesting to see how much tropical plants love it too! Keep up the gregsperiments!
Love this!!!!! Look forward to your updates. πŸ₯°πŸ˜
Yes! I want to see your results.
I fed almost all of my plants for egg shell salad over the winter. I think it definitely helped. The shells take ages to break down so I ended up removing them and making a powder in the coffee grinder and used that. It eventually attracted fungus gnats so you may want to mix it into the soil a bit.
Yessss! Agree with @HoyaAddict! I used eggshells in my veggie garden last year and had an abundance of healthy veggies! I’m eager to know what will happen when paired with these types!! Wishing you luck and keep us updated plesseee!! 🀞🏽✨πŸ₯°
@ShinyBudew looking for updates on these. πŸ’• @HoyaAddict I see quiet a few people that use eggshells, do you mix them in the soil or lay them on top?
@KikiGoldblatt after I put them on top I realized I should probably mix it in so I did and I think @Jilliebeanstalk also made a valid point about why you should mix it in!
I assume you clean your shells first, right?
@Novaklutz yeah I made sure to wash and dry them thoroughly so there’s no gunk and it was not moist to attract pests!
