I’ve learned a lot listening to others on the web and at the garden center. I repotted my last ponytail multiple times (I always used succulent soil). However, the pots I was using were way too large and my ponytail would die after 3 years. The garden center told me to keep the pot as small as possible and not to water often. My pot now is all roots (4”) and almost no soil. There are people who only water them every 2-3 months. I would research before repotting. The water is stored in the trunk. Good luck with yours!!
