Are these springtails?

I was watering my plant and noticed these guys and I'm having a heart attack. I think it's springtails? If it is should I wait it out? How do I treat them?? Should I just throw the soil out? These are the best pictures I could get #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #pestcontrol #greggang #plantmafia #help

I'm not sure, but I saw the same thing on my orchid πŸ™€
Might be thrips or Aphids, whatever pest it is, it's better to treat than wait for them to kill your plant. Give your plant a thorough wipe down with insecticidal soap. I usually just change the soil to new, treated soil, hope this helps
Can you get a closer shot?? They might be water fleas. I get them in my fish tanks, totally harmless. In a tank the fish eat any that come out of the substrate.
hmm. they do look like springtails but it’s definitely hard to tell without a picture unachievable by a phone. if you really want them gone, you can use cinnamon like you may see other greggers talk about using as a deterrent to bugs and insects. springtails aren’t actually harmful and can actually clean the environment they live in. they are still an annoying nuisance in many cases though, and a quick google search will tell you lots of remedies for them! good luck!
They do look like springtails to me! If they stay in the soil rather than the leaves and jump when disturbed, then I’m comfortable calling them springtails. They’re beneficial, eating mold and out-competing fungus gnats, so I would just let them be. I actually seed them in my terraria and moss poles! If they bother you, then let the soil dry out. They thrive in places that stay fairly damp.
@soupycare Hello and welcome to Greg, Brianna!

How to get rid of them. Letting soil dry completely as possible is the best way to deal with infested pots already in the home. Sprinkle Safer Brand diatomaceous earth on potted soils to help them dry and to repel springtails. If infestations in potted plants persist, use a non-toxic, biodegradable soil drench to kill and repel the bugs.
