African Violet Not Blooming
Hi, My African Violet leaves seem healthy (a step up from my usual past experiences!) but it has unfortunately stopped blooming. I have not overwatered this one so the leaves are firm & seem to be growing, but they are tilted slightly upward so I tried to move it into a bit more light than I was giving it before. Any other suggestions? TIA!

@super_sarah_s in my experience with African violets they need to be turned every so often so they grow evenly... I also have self watering pots for them so they stay a little miost all the time...
@FirstCanna I have been doing a rotation every time I water (once a week-ish). The lady at the flower shop told me I should water it until I see the first drop of water come out of the bottom, then stop. It has been working so farβ¦aside from the blooms! Iβm going to start giving it Agrican Violet food at the end of the month, Iβm hoping that helps! Thanks!
Food will help! I water mine thoroughly about once a week; whenever the soil feels dry. They like bright, indirect light, but mine thrive under a grow light. Like, they genuinely have never looked so good. I have some in self watering pots, others in ceramic. As I repot, Iβm moving them all to ceramic as I find they tend to sit in really damp soil all the time in the self watering pots. They survived, but they werenβt very happy.
@Ehlane Thanks! I keep mine in their plastic pots inside their fun pots, that way I can lift them up & feel if theyβre light (the garden store recommended I do that because Iβm an overwaterer.) Iβve been considering a grow light though! Yours look so pretty!
@super_sarah_s even when I didn't have self watering pots I put water in through the bottom of my pots because watering from the top kills the leaves... so when I water in self watering it don't use a lot of water and they are damp not sopping wet... they seem to thrive this way... both of my violets are blooming it seems constantly... I don't use violet food at all...
@FirstCanna Thank you! Yours are blooming really nicely! Iβll try doing a bottom-water soon and see if they like it!
