Why was this strawberry plant pot not growing properly?

We have 2 strawberry plant pots and one pot is thriving and has about 10 delicious strawberries.

Whereas the other pot (pictured here) consists of 3 individual strawberry plants and the leaves are all small and weak. There is 1 strawberry and it's receiving almost no energy or good stuff. The soil in this pot was absolutely covered in moss (third pic) so I've just cleaned out the soil, got rid of all the moss and removed dead matter off the plants, and I've put them all back in the same pot (first pic). It looks much cleaner now.

I was wondering if you guys would know, was it the moss causing the damage to the strawberry plants? Do you think they will start growing normally now?

I'll put a pic of the healthy pot as well so you can see what we're working with here and what the ideal would have been. (second pic)

Edit: the pics reordered themselves so I've edited which pic is which

Isn’t it the soils too damper than another one? Im not sure but that’s what I guess from the pictures
@RichlyProfilica it could be but the other pot has been getting the same amount of water and is thriving
@Lony it doesn’t matter they’re getting the same amount of water but other could not be dry as the other one and then get the same amount of the water again so it leads to overwatering n damage the roots. I would recommend every times you water just check the soils by many ways (deep your finger, use chopstick..) so you can better know if your plants need water or not.
