Cactus and Winter

Hi #GregGang, I have a question, I have this mini plastic greenhouse with my cactus collection, I know the winter months are coming and I need your help. (It should be noted that direct sunlight does not hit the greenhouse.)

First of all, my idea is to keep them outside, but my question is, how can I keep them warm outside? I had thought about installing a kind of heat lamp inside the greenhouse and closing it so that it would maintain a not-so-low temperature inside, I don't know if it's a good idea, so that's why I'm asking for your help.

My second option is to put it inside my house (I prefer the first one) and use artificial light from time to time (I know that not all of them work so your opinion would help me,) although I heard that having them on heating during winter can alter their β€œhibernation” state so I really don't know what to do.

thanks for the help!! #CactusClique #HappyPlants #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Greenhouse

It depends how cold it gets outside for you in the winter. Looking at those they wouldn't like it to cold say less than 5-7Β°C, i would look up some of your cacti and see what they can tolerate and that will help you work out if you need to heat or bring inside.
Very cute, cactus terrarium! As for the winter, I agree with Taff.

From my personal experience (DC area), that the thicker the middle of the cactus the less tolerable it is to cold.
You can buy mini fans with heaters built in. Such fans can provide heat without light for through the night We use one or two to keep a silkie (miniature bird) coop warm in the winter. If it gets too warm inside (place a thermometer inside), you can buy a cyclical timer to turn the heater on and off until it hovers around a satisfactory temperature. If it is not hot enough, throw in another heater/fan.
Here is a heater that looks decent, although I haven't tried it. This gives an idea of what I was thinking of.

That’s gotta be one of the most satisfying things to see. Just a bunch of little pots (not to mention all the same style of pot), all *perfectly* fitting inside a mini greenhouse.
😌 ahh..beautiful!
