How often to water my succulent
Hey Raquel! What kind of succulent do you have? There are so many variables unique to your plant (temperature, humidity, pot type, etc) that it's virtually impossible to say exactly how often you should water it. So rather than sticking to a set schedule, the best way to know when it's ready for water is to check the soil. You can use a moisture meter, a wooden chopstick, or just your finger. Succulents are desert plants, so they like their soil to completely dry out between waterings. They're very susceptible to root rot, so it's always better to underwater than overwater. A few things that can help are using terracotta pots, which are porous and allow soil to dry out faster, and potting it in a very well-draining soil. You can get some specifically made for succulents/cacti, or you can make your own by adding perlite or pumice to regular potting soil (2 parts soil, 1 part perlite or pumice). Making sure your succulent get plenty of direct sunlight will also help avoid overwatering.
If you're using Greg for watering reminders, think of them as suggestions more than anything. If you get a reminder to water your plant but the soil still feels moist, hit the "snooze" button and it will remind you again in a few days. The more you use the app, the more accurate the reminders will be! 😊
By the way, using hashtags helps ensure more people see your post, which increases your chances of getting the right answer. A few popular ones are #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #HappyPlants and #GregGang . I hope this helps! If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask 🥰
