Pebble Tray

Hi! I think some of my plants need a pebble tray for increased humidity. Does it matter what type of pot they’re in? Should they be in terracotta pots? Do they need drainage holes?

Thanks to this app I’m slowly learning how to be a better plant parent. And I’m loving the community aspect of this app! Thank you all for helping me learn. 💚

A drainage hole is just a good idea for all pots. Doesn’t matter the type of pot if you add a pebble tray. A terra cotta pot will soak up moisture it’s touching. There are mixed opinions of the efficacy of pebble trays, but I say go for it if you feel like it!
@CasualOnionweed I would say providing a pebble tray depends largely on the type of plant you have. Succulents for instance generally don’t need any additional humidity. As a rule of thumb a pebble tray cannot provide as much humidity as let‘s say a humidifier. Tropical plants are better of being grouped together and giving additional moisture via a humidifier.
