Calling all #Anthurium LOVERS!!

Hello!! Help please :) I just got three starters!!! Anthurium Veitchii - A DREAM OF MINE. I’m building a whole shelf in my living room! It’s a MOMENT! & two and most importantly how about an Anthurium clarinervium! I know that Veitchii loves bright indirect light. My house is humid from the multiple humidifiers & I’ve ordered some sulfur and limestone for the soil pH. I also have a gage to test the soil with. I just don’t know anything about successful starting!! Are starters happiest in perlite, peat moss or soil? Do they need a grow box? Please advise anything & everything. Light needs, temp needs, soil mixes, etc! Anything is helpful😌😍🌱 #Anthurium #AnthuriumClarinervium #AnthuriumVeitchii #GregGang
I have two Anthuriums in my south-facing bathroom window and they thrive there. They also love the humidity the bathroom offers. Make sure you have a pot with plenty of drainage and water when the soil is almost dry and don’t ever let them get soggy. I had to learn the hard way. I let one die before the two I own now so I know what not to do to keep them alive. Best of luck! @Prentyce And I use regular Miracle Gro soil and it works fine.
@PlantHapppy YAY THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I feel like I over water so I’m excited to hold off and see how it goes πŸ₯ΉπŸ€©
Congrats on your new anthurium! I have an anthurium polyschistum that I got as a little cutting. Mine was happy staying in a little water pot until it got about 1.5 inches of root. That’s when I moved it into a deep planter with regular potting soil. It’s been quite happy with bright indirect light or 1-3 hours of morning sun before it gets hot. (Too much will definitely cause leaf burn). I never worried about humidity and mine seems to be ok. She’s about 14 inches tall now, which is on the big size for an anthurium polyschistum. Good luck with your new little friends!
@BuddingPitayita OH MY GOSHNESS!!! Thank you so much!! I cannot wait! I will definitely be sure to watch the sunlight! :) thank you so much again!!
Here is mine it hasn’t put out a new leaf in like a month
@Plants_Galore oh no!! Is it a dormancy period maybe?? :)
Anthuriums are my thing. I have quite a few. Just be specific when asking and I’ll answer as thoroughly as I can.
My crystallinum is in aroid mix [i think coco bark, perlite, vermiculite/lava rock and rice husk]. Crystal and clarinervium should be easy enough as a beginner plant. Mine is in southeast window, where it gets just less than an hour of direct light from 11-12
@Prentyce you’re welcome! I’m excited to see their growth!
@Araceae oh wow!!! Thank you so much! I need to get some coco bark and rice husk! Thank you SO MUCH! I think I’ll be doing a southwest window? I think!! We will see :)
