It’s time for #brunchataudreys 🌱
I’m looking forward to today as my boss last minute gave me the day off to pack for moving but I think I’m just gonna relax today! My dad had surgery yesterday so we’re taking it slow this morning & enjoying listening to the birds chirp while he reads his latest Stephen King novel 😂
Let’s hear it for spring time!!

@OrangeGrass hey!! Thank you! The second photo is a Hoya Lacunosa according to the plant tag it came with..however, I think it may be a Lacunosa silver or something like that. I can’t tell for sure yet!

@elisenavidad haha a couple others have done it, dont worry. Honestly half expecting it sometimes especially with big groups
@elisenavidad hard to tell at a young age. But once it's grown quite large you should be able to differentiate it from others. The main lineage would be Kunzo, but occasionally they may sell others like Mints as White Monsters, or there may be some variation in the TC seedlings, then i suppose it wouldn't be a 'pure' White Monster. Difficult lah, at this point Kunzo is just a synonym for White Monster
@Araceae ahhhh this is super interesting. Thank you for sharing that! I’ve had a hard time myself trying to find a solid answer regarding whether it’s mint labeled as a white monster or what. However, he also had a mint monstera though & I was at a toss up between the two - they did look completely different & the veins especially..so I guess we’ll see as she ages 😇
@elisenavidad yes, i grew uo here. My parents and all are Singaporeans. We have fascinating natives! My favs are Scindapsus pictus, Schismatoglottis wallichii, Rhopaloblaste singaporensis which is a cool palm, Nepenthes rafflesiana, Singapore Rhododendron [neither restricted to Singapore nor a Rhododendron, the berries stain your mouth black], Cryptocoryne x timahensis [cool rare hybrid semi-aquatic plant, found only in a pool in Bukit Timah created when the Japs built a small dam there during WWII], Maiden's Jealousy [smells like honeysuckle], Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi, Tiger orchid [largest in the world], Cymbidium finlaysonianum , Macodes petola, Neohelaphyllum pulcher, Arachnis hookeriana, Acriopsis ridleyi, Bulbophyllum lobbii and maxillare, Pigeon Dendrobium, Renanthera elongata, Nervilia singaporeansis [lovely endemic ground orchid, very elusive, found only in Bukit Timah], Ficus villosa [like pumila but it shingles and is fuzzy]… i could go on! You'd be quite surprised, we're soo close to Malaysia [could literally swim across, provided both side the patrol boats off-duty and you don't get rammed by a boat], so small yet we've got PLENTY of endemics! It's too bad we can't grow highland plants outside tho, would love a dozen Anthurium warocqueanums.
