@luvmygreenhouse he does look a little tiny, however he definitely has a developed crest and adult coloration. I would say he’s around a year old.
Fun fact after some research-if a blue jay survives its first year of life, it will usually have a typical lifespan of 5-7 years. Some can live 10+.
Also Blue jays are monomorphic. Which means the female and male are practically identical in every way. It’s almost impossible to determine gender with the eye-they usually have to do DNA testing 😲 how cool!?

@Bmd Wow! And I didn't know that Blue Jays can live to be more than 5 yrs! I guess to really admit, I never really realized birds might live for more than 1 yr...!!🤭🫣😂
