Sometimes I find it hard to come up with a name for a plant (and hence why I ask for suggestions on #HelpMeNameMyPlant ) and sometimes the plant suggests the name itself.

So today I bought a rescue Silver Lady Fern, it was getting crispy and in a bad way but I think I can bring it back to life with a little TLC (humidity etc)

So when I thought Silver Lady, I thought of the logo on the front of any Rolls Royce (no, I don’t own one … yet LOL πŸ˜‚) which is known as β€œThe Spirit of Ecstasy” ( over 100 years ago so before β€œEcstasy” was used as a name for something else 🀫)

I came across this interesting article so please welcome β€œSpirit of Ecstasy Silver Lady Fern”

And for the diehards, there’s even a little booklet of its history

Love it πŸ˜€ ❀️
I name my plants too! They have to come organically. Some it just clicks. Like my amazonica..I got her and she was a sad thing, so I have sinced nursed her over 2 years and she is doing amazing! Naturally I named her Otrera, the first Amazonian Queen
@Tikiboo Hey that’s a really cool name to come up with. It’s nice to nurse plants back to health. Do you have some photos of Otrera ?
Here is one from before I repotted her. When I got her she had 6 8-foot long tendrils that only had a few leaves.
Great story that led up to naming your silver lady.
Lol my first house plant is a Pothos that I grew from cuttings I stole from a plant at work. I named it Pothos...cus Im also a huge fan of the 3 musketeers and it is actually a combo of 3 different pothos
How I miss these articles of yours is a mystery??? I like the name and the looks of the fern when I looked it up @Seymour best of luck on your new plant!! I got a new one myself, not sure you would actually call it a fern but to me that’s what it looks likeπŸ€” it’s a philodendron Tortum
