Pickle plant care and love update
Pickle Pal Update π₯ππ±
I watered today & treated them with arber fungicide & insecticide to keep them happy & healthy. I love the pattern on them, as well as the lil spine texture. They are actually soft but look like little spines. I need to start measuring them so I can track the growth more accurately. #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #SucculentLove #SucculentSquad #Succulents #Succulent #GrowingSuccs #PicklePlant #Senecio #GrowLights #PlantAddict #HappyPlants

@KDkat3 Iβve never seen a pickle plant at Home Depot ! They are super fun plants I wish I would have gotten one sooner! ππ₯π€©
@TidyTigerpear I was surprised to see on there too! I actually just got my random mystery succulent order and it came with a pickle plant!! Iβm so happy to have 1 again!
@PreciseOrchids I think you can yes, I would do some research to double check, they are propped by seperatinf, mine grew pups not long after replanting. Also if youβre having rotting issues , I would recommend adding a lot of perlite or gritty soil mix. Mine is planted in bonsai jack gritty mix (for succulents) with some added succulent soil from miracle grow. It has done amazing and grew so fast. I also keep it under grow lights. I water every two weeks , if the soil is still wet donβt water.
@KDkat3 those are all very pretty !! And the pickles grow so fast! I have mine in bonsai jack with added soil and it loves it
@SteamyRosegrape thank you (:
@TidyTigerpear so I have it in all the conditions u said but some reason it hates meβ¦ ππ€£
@PreciseOrchids could you take a picture of the issue ? And maybe you should take it out and check roots ??
@PreciseOrchids if you cut the piece that is rotted, once it calluses it will grow a new pickle from the top, or wherever you cut it
@PreciseOrchids that does look like rot, I would carefully remove the healthy one thatβs growing from it, and let it callous for day or two, then pot it in clean soil, separate from your other pickles, and keep it slightly damp, and under grow lights. You might not even need to water at first, Iβm not 100% sure if it will grow roots in dry soil, or if it will need it to be damp, kinda like propagating any other succulents. I usually donβt water until I see roots, but in this case it will be planted under dirt so itβs hard to tell. But keep it under grow lights, and keep the soil lightly misted, not saturated because it will rot the prop.
@TidyTigerpear THANK YOU π
