Look whoโs finally home! ๐
I had to wait 4 months until the weather warmed up, rent a moving truck, and ride in the back with her, but sheโs finally in her new spot ๐ฑ
Extra shout out to the hubs who did the driving and carrying ๐๐ช๐ป

@debbiedo oh sheโs even more beautiful than I remembered!! ๐ yay!! And is that her final spot in the pic? She looks GREAT there ๐ And yay for the hubs too ๐ฅฐ
@debbiedo Woah!! I didn't realize how big it was!! Nice score!! Here's to many years of happiness to you guys! ๐๐ Extra points to your hubby! ๐๐๐
@SuperbRaspfern Thank you Shannon, isnโt she stunning? ๐คฉ
@Boymom-plantmom Only about 20 miles ๐๐ป
@debbiedo She truely is you can tell she has been well loved! ๐ฉท๐ฉท๐ฉท
@DreamMachine Yes, thatโs her final spot ๐ฅฐ
@BEsucculent ๐ No vacations, the weather was just too chilly to safely move her outside. We both wanted to be extra cautious in order to minimize any shock.
@princesspitstop Even with the measurements itโs hard to know how itโs going to fit until itโs actually in. Itโs just what I was hoping ๐ Niw Iโd like it to slow down so that I never have to figure out what to do when it hits the ceiling ๐
@SuperbRaspfern Yes, I think so too, sheโs very healthy. The woman I bought her from also give me a whole bunch of cuttings and some of her favorite plant food. Super thoughtful ๐
@debbiedo Oh my goodness! ๐ We'll just cross that bridge when we get to it!! ๐ฅฐ
@debbiedo oh my goodness! Disregard my other message on your other post. ๐คฃ. Thatโs an incredibly beautiful Norfolk! Itโs gorgeous, I absolutely love your cute puppier just sitting there looking at it; maybe slightly confused as to why we have a forest friend in the house?? ๐คฃ I canโt wait to see you like it. ๐ซถ๐ป๐ฉต๐ธ๐
@princesspitstop For sure! Thatโs not a today problem ๐ซฃ
@Idplantthat As long as he can still see outside to monitor the squirrels, heโs good ๐ฟ๏ธ๐จโฆ๐
@debbiedo ooh whatโs her favorite plant food?
@DreamMachine Half concentration for indoor plants. She said it lasts for 6 months, have you heard of it?
OH. MY. GOSH!! @Boymom-plantmom just sent me a picture and my reply was: "Ummm. Where is that and where can I buy it??" ๐คฃ
@debbiedo oh yes I have! From what Iโve seen itโs a very popular slow release fertilizer. I almost bought it once ๐ Iโll be interested to hear how you like it further down the line. ๐
@sarah10orio I told Nadia Iโm just sitting here staring at it, Iโm in love ๐ฅฐ Itโs good thing we have dinner plans, so at least I have to get up and eat ๐
@DreamMachine I donโt hate the idea of only having to do it twice a year, but I imagine there are some downsides too?
@debbiedo ha ha ha oh my goodness, heโs a squirrel chaser. Those little guys love messing with dogs ๐ ๐คฃ
@princesspitstop @debbiedo
โWELP! ๐ Looks like weโre cutting a hole in the ceiling honey!! Itโs the only way ๐คทโโ๏ธ โ

@debbiedo Iโve never used it, so this is just spit balling mind you, based off of my own poking around, but it appears to be pretty hands off. I see a lot of nurseryโs using it. Itโs temperature dependent so it releases less when itโs cold and more when itโs warm.
it doesnโt have ๐ฏ of the required plant nutrients. ๐ง It looks like if you have the โozmacote plusโ version, that includes calcium and magnesium. But If you have the standard version, I would assume you might need to add a cal-mag supplement to your routine?
If anyone has an informative opinion on ozmacote fertilizer though, it would be Shannon @SuperbRaspfern ๐

@debbiedo Wow! That thing is huge!! It looks great in your house!
Osmocot is fine but the NPK is quite high so you need to use caution. Anything that has numbers above 10 is quite risky. I actually used to use it a very long time ago, over a decade ago, and severely burned many of my plants roots. If you do choose to go that route, speaking from my personal experience only use 1/2 the amount and NEVER repeat or add more fertilizer before the whole 6 months has passed.
Because then you have to repot every single plant with fresh soil because it is literally a nightmare picking all those little white balls out.
Plus after those roots are burned the damage is done.
I always recommend liquid it's much easier to control the amount and flush out the soil if you are heavy handed.

@SuperbRaspfern Shannon, while we're on the subject...is there a particular liquid fertilizer you recommend? I use We The Wild at every watering but need a balanced NPK.
@stephonicle Yes, I always recommend and use myself Super Thrive Foilage Pro on all of my plants. It doesn't cost a lot and is incredibly effective.
You really can't go wrong with it. You will see a huge improvement in your plants.
In your case for the first month start with 1/4 strength. Month 2 1/2 strength. Then you should be good going to full strength every other watering. Eventually increasing to every watering. Just because, We The Wild has very very low amounts of NPK. Your plants won't be used to all those nutrients it can get salt shock otherwise from not being able to process the nutrients.
They eventually become acclimated to no nutrients, like a starved person. When the person or plant suddenly receives nutrients it can shock their systems so do it gradually.
@DreamMachine Hey Nadia just wanted to tag you on this because I thought it might interest you. ๐ฉท

@stephonicle Anytime ๐ฉท
@Idplantthat The squirrels got used to us not having a dog, so Gage is enjoying catching them off guard ๐
@SuperbRaspfern oh you also know me so very well ๐๐ซถ
And I concur @stephonicle Superthrive Foliage Pro (not to be confused with Superthrive Vitamin Solution, nor Superthrive Grow ๐) is the best. Itโs stable, reliable, and all my plants seem to love it. โฆSometimes I flirt with other fertilizers, ๐คซ but I always come back to foliage pro.

@DreamMachine @princesspitstop Ceilings are over rated anyway right โ๏ธ
@RefinedSandwort Thanks Joy!!
@Succulent8497 ๐๐๐
@debbiedo It reminds me of this Italian restaurant Downtown Houston ages ago that had a live Oak tree in the dining room that went straight through the roof. Must have been an important tree lol Nothing is impossible ๐ฅฐ
@debbiedo
Good morning dear โฅ๏ธ
When I first read your post I thought that it was you who was moving!
What an incredible tree ๐ณ ๐. Truly majestic.
I'm so excited for you!

@princesspitstop I love your optimism, Iโm a Pollyanna myself โบ๏ธ
@CutePolypremum Thsnk goodness it was only the tree that was moving!
@debbiedo omg that is the most beautiful houseplant I have ever seen!! Truly spectacular and what a wonderful focal point for the room๐คฉ. My daughter wanted one but when we read how tall they can get she changed her mind - couldnโt cut a hole ๐ณ๏ธ in the ceiling in her townhouse ๐ ๐ ๐
@SuperbRaspfern how is your new house and your cute little ladies (chickens) doing?? I never really knew how smart chickens are; itโs kinda crazy how intelligent they are. They are kinda lil bad ass little buddies ๐คฃ๐๐ซถ๐ป๐ธ๐ฉต
@Idplantthat Awe, they are really great. I added 10 chicks and moved them to the coop last week almost 6 months old. My sweet little innocent cutie patootie babies.
But then.....
One got hurt yesterday and started bleeding and fortunately I was out there because those small cannibals went insane pecking it, chasing it!!! I caught it and brought it inside to heal a bit. But boy can they be mean. It wasn't even my big hens going after it it was the little ones. ๐ข Adorable but nature is sometimes cruel!!

@MariansOasis Iโm collecting some size control techniques for when the time comes โบ๏ธ
@SuperbRaspfern yeah, chickens/birds can be unbelievable jerks! Especially if itโs one thatโs injured, they seem to know and go after them. Itโs crazy.. ๐คฃ ๐ Growing up we had hens and they could be like stinkers. But they are pretty amazing little feathery creatures
