Pruning would be very beneficial and allowcrate the ficus to grow, to fill out, become fuller and to start becoming bushier instead being tall, leggy, and spendly. By recommendation is to prune the plant (ficus) back down to a one fourth from below the top of the bamboo steak you are using for support for your plant. If you look at the photos that you have shown you should see where to prune the plant down to
