Eeekkk!! It's finally happening!!! My first bloom from my Echeveria!! I've had her about 3.5 to 4 years πŸ₯° I'm so happy but also so scared. Does this mean she's going to die now? #happyplants bloomingsuccs">#bloomingsuccs #echeveria #greggang
2ft to light, direct
10” pot with drainage

How wonderful!
I read that only two common species produce a death bloom/terminal.
Congratulations! It’s beautiful!
The two that may produce a terminal bloom are Echeveria 'Afterglow' and Echeveria 'Blue. It's just a "may" which means it is not 100 percent. I'm not sure which one you got.
Nope, Echeverias are not monocarpic. It's Sempervivum that are! I've heard Echeverias only stop growing if their bloom comes from the exact middle of the rosette where all the new growth should be.
@samowski that’s so exciting!! Congrats!!
I couldn’t take it… I loved your plant so much I went and bought this little beauty.
Congratulations on keeping it alive for so long @samowski #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove
@LittleSongbird you amaze me. Please tell me what monocarpic means!
She’s gorgeous and that’s so exciting!
@PoniesAndPlants Aww, thank you! Monocarpic means that a plant can only flower once, and when it does, it leads to its death.
Ahhh. Very interesting. I love words so thank you for teaching me a new one!! @LittleSongbird
Beautiful bloom!! And impressive you’ve kept it going for so long! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
No it won’t die. Btw it has wrong id in your plant card. It is not agave. It is Echeveria Pulidonis
No, it’s normal for Echeveria to bloom and they won’t die.
