Went out collecting ball moss for my air plant collection. We used to have the long trailing Spanish moss in Houston but air pollution and heat islands have banished it to only a few spots mostly out of town. #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #TheWateringHole
Hello! When we lived in Houston, we had the spanish moss growing from the trees at the entrance of our subdivision (Lakewood Grove Spring/Cypress 249) and someone came and took it. Boy was there a uproar! For it to grow 6 inches the HOA President said too 5 years.. It looked so much like the South! Too bad they are disappearing! 🪴🐞🌵
@ZestyWhiteghost Yes they are very slow growing. They may still grow out there although the city is expanding so much it’s hard to say. I understand you can still find it at Brazos Bend, but I wouldn’t want to bring it into the city to have it die. I’m trying to have them outside next to the greenhouse on some metal shelves that haven’t been interestingly decorated as yet. I’m mounting them on some driftwood/ rusted iron structures. I’ll post a photo when it’s done.
