Can someone please help me identify what this is on my rubber plant! I’m not too sure what this is or what a solution would be.
Thank you! #Ficus #RubberPlant #HappyPlants
In your first picture it looks like the largest mealy bug ever! But they typically are on the undersize of leaves and when there’s one… there are many close by!! Second pic has similar damage but obviously not mealy bugs. I’d venture to say it’s bacterial or fungal issue. It usually shows up as a sunken, crusty patch. Is it just on these 2 leaves πŸƒ? I’d isolate it for sure while you figure out what it is. Inspect for pests. If none then it’s probably an infection so you can remove those leaves to be sure it doesn’t spread. I haven’t had to treat for infections so I don’t have a recommendation but I’m sure you’ll find on a Google search. In the meantime keep the leaves dry, don’t mist. And be careful not to overwater.
To me this looks like damage done to the leaves before they fully burned in. I’m not sure what the original cause would be though.
@MariansOasis thank you! It is strange, I’ve never seen anything like this and haven’t been able to compare the marks to anything on the internet. I think it was possibly bacterial or fungal, so I did remove the leaves. So far so good with the rest of my ficus, no new spots or signs of distress!
@GreenBean3000 oh that’s good news!! πŸ™Œ
