@princesspitstop oh no! 🤣 That was happening for me during the whole Picture Onside-gate issue, but now it’s working for me again. I swear it’s like trying to plug up holes in a leaky bucket 🪣

That’s not the case for me, but every time I check “the leaderboard” I have no way of going back to the community, my plants, or profile and I have to close the app and reopen to do so.
And believe me, I’ve tried swiping and tapping from EVERY spot on the leaderboard page 🤣

@DreamMachine This happens to me all the time too Nadia. No way to go back if a visit an oasis, etc. sometimes I get lucky just randomly tapping in the upper left, but usually I have to close and reopen.
@debbiedo @DreamMachine @princesspitstop same here, no way to go back, must exit and return 🥴🙄. The other 2 things that are happening is randomly my plant info is blank. The picture and all the headers are there but for example the days I’ve watered aren’t listed. And numerous times it says it can’t load my schedule right now & to come back later 😒. Yeah, if I wasn’t so attached to the current #TheWateringHole gang, I’d probably be done. Like @princesspitstop said “accepting mediocrity “. 🙄😒
@MariansOasis I’m with you Marian. If not for this group I’d have given up. @DreamMachine I’ve been wondering if anyone else would want to try moving our chat over to the Oh Happy platform to try it out…?
@MariansOasis It’s a Mighty Networks site set up by Veronica who owns Oh Happy Plants. No watering reminders or a way to catalog plants, just a community for chatting. It’s not super active from what I can tell, but we could change that 😉

My daughter is a UX/UI designer and I’ve been begging her to design an app! She’s so good at it. I almost feel like I’d be willing to front the development money. She says the goal is to make the user not hate the app they’re using. 👀😂 I always feel protective of the Greg team because the app feels so positive and giving, but whew, when it tells me to water a cactus 4 days after I just did, I start losing faith.

It *would* be nice to have an app or platform upon which we could easily search for and find older posts without having to remember to share the link to each one to myself. And of course I forget some. Or, I only realize later I wanted to reread a comment someone made on a post that I didn’t think to save.
I also agree, I feel a bit protective of the Greg team because how could they have attracted so many wonderful plant people and now real friends of mine to this app if they weren’t one and the same? …And then part of me thinks at the same time “WE are the Greg team” 😂

@DreamMachine UX- user experience UI- user interface. Basically her job is to create the architecture that makes technology usable, beautiful, and something that enhances with our lives rather than making it worse! Mostly she designs medical and scientific software and app design. And I agree- yes we are the Greg team!
@MamaLinne I KNEW something had to be off!! I feel like I'm being told way too often to water plants that I JUST watered!! Not just cactus and succulents but my regular plants don't need to be watered that often!! 😠 Like I don't have enough to do for an app to create things for me to do to soon. I mean I know better but some of the new plant parents that follow the watering reminders are going to go oh ok it's time to water and not think twice about it! Why would the app tell you something wrong that's going to harm their plants? So frustrating! It's sad because this could be an even more awesome app if the wonky things were fixed! You know? 💔
@DreamMachine @MamaLinne Every single one of us are qualified to be Beta testers as far as what we're looking for in a plant app. We aren't very picky either. Just someone dedicated to fixing the major issues. I'm not saying that it's easy but you'd think that 2 years would be plenty of time to get the bugs worked out.

Years ago when there were many people invested in improving Greg (employees & users) it was great. Lots of enthusiasm, ideas & improvements! It sure has changed. Seems these days the paid employees have moved on to other projects and Greg is just floating out there on its own to either sink or swim. I’m weary of the glitches and especially what Deb @MamaLinne said- watering a cactus 4 days after last 💦 !! We’d get better advice from a preschooler. At first I thought it was me, then paying closer attention I saw it wasn’t. Even today it’s telling me to water a Hoya I watered 4 days ago. But letting the wee 2” Mathilda go 7 days before watering??🥴🫨 And why is it 2 syngonium in different size pots get the same exact amount of water on same days??😵💫

Hello #TheWateringHole friends. The social aspect of the group is one off the main reasons I’ve stayed. I look forward to posts here. Anyone remember the good old days of Greg when staff did the weekly #FreshLeafFriday posts, along with #WhatTheSuccWednesday posts? I thought this was the coolest app. The staff involvement and posting made it special. I miss that. I appreciate all who have helped to keep #TheWateringHole active. I admit to relying on the watering reminders. I don’t always water, but I do check. I don’t know if I could keep up otherwise.
I would love to see the app revived and get back to what it used to be. The glitches need to be fixed and staff needs to be involved again in order to retain members. Seems like there was more activity on the app when I joined.

@RefinedSandwort I miss the staff involvement too, Joy! I also haven’t seen them name the “Best Answerers” in forever 😕 Do they still send out mugs? I think the last one I saw mentions Greg plant shop gift certificates instead (now I covet my mug more than ever!). I really do wonder what direction, if any, they’re trying to take the app?
