Peony appreciation!!!
The home I currently live in was built in the late 50s. Owned by one family before we purchased. The owners passed away and the property went to their two sons. After a few years, their sons decided to sell the home. I loved the house right away. Little did I know until after we purchased it, that their mother had planted peonies years ago!
Look how beautiful π there's five or six different varieties. One peony bush didn't bloom yet. So I didn't take a picture of that. But here is each variety. And the scent is divine.
The varieties identified so far are...
Festiva Maxima
Jacorma
Jules Elie
Sarah Bernhardt
Cinnabar Ramparts
I hope I'm not wrong on any of these IDs. If I am, please correct me π

@sarahsalith Thank you. God bless the soul of the woman who planted them. She also planted 3 different types of irises but the blooms are spent now. I wish I had discovered this app sooner. I would have loved to have shown everyone. Maybe next year! She also planted an endless summer hydrangea bush and hostas. I can't wait to add on to what she planted π©·
Gorgeous! Peony is my absolute favorite flower. So wonderful you have so many varieties. I live in a townhouse so canβt plant any, other than the one I snuck in next to our unit and planted under cover of darkness π Sheβs been there three years and nobodyβs noticed her yet. Her buds havenβt opened yet this year.
@PricklyThumb π I love that you did that! I know renting or living in a HOA is sucky. But you'd be surprised what people can get away with and the leasing office never cares. When I used to live in our apartment, our former neighbor would plant sunflowers every year next to his A/C unit. He lived on the ground level. And he had a bird feeder too. He didn't care. He was pretty cool. π
