New philodendron 'Burgundy' and care tips?

New plant!!
I think this will be my last baby for a while as I have literally no space left, a low budget, and I need plant supplies- not new plants. πŸ˜… However, this week I spent a long time cleaning and wanted to reward myself! Originally set out for a prince of orange, but they all looked a little sad and I found this guy with hints of pink and giant leaves for $20!! I’m super happy and open to any suggestions. This is my 6th? Philodendron!

There is quite a bit of calcium buildup on the leaves, and some ruffling on the edges of the newest leaf… I think it probably just got stuck. Is leaf shine safe to use, or a mixture of neem and dish soap (diluted) to protect against pets and clean? I’m very happy and proud! 😁β™₯️ #PhiloFlock #burgundyprincessphilodendron #NotToBeDramaticButIWouldDieForThisLeaf #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewPlants #NewGrowth #alltangosposts @Nightshade

Also, just a comment… she’s a little tippy since the bottom stem is so small! πŸ₯² I’m going to get a moss pole ASAP for her, and add a little more soil! Any other suggestions?
Oooh! She's gorgeous! πŸ’š That's a steal for $20!

She'll like the pole. Once you repot her, if you don't have your own philo mix already, the Miracle Grow tropical mix, orchid mix, and worm castings is a good mix for your philo.

Is this your first #Philodendron @tango ?
@AwesomePlants she isn’t, but definitely would be my first repotting. I have the indoor plant mix and all the other supplies… would indoor work instead of tropical? 🧐
@sarahsalith @peter1 @kscape @TJphilobsessed come see my new plant! 🀣 and @ForFoxSake I know you have a lot of philos so any tips?
@tango So I used to use just the indoor, but after suggestions from #Greggers , I tried the tropical and my philo babies LOOOOOπŸ’šVE it. Honestly, it has made such a difference, I repotted all my plants with it as most of mine are philo or tropical.
@AwesomePlants Oh wow! Sounds good, I think I’ve seen it at my local store so I’ll go take a look! I wonder what the difference is? Maybe some #experiments are in store!
@tango looks like almost same ingredients except tropical includes lava rock for better drainage. But just more of whatever helps the tropical plants. The soil color is lighter and I'm assuming that's more of the coir.
@AwesomePlants ohh interesting! I will definitely try it out. And would a little more perlite hurt?
@tango Nope. I also add perlite and more sphagnum.
Tango! That plant is AMAZING!! I didn't know I needed a Philodendron Burgundy! Love your hashtag, too' (: It'll make it easy to find your posts.
@tango that is a steal!! Beautiful philodendron!! @AwesomePlants @sarahsalith I just ordered some coco coir from Amazon. I’m going to try my hand at mixing my own soil. Coco coir, perlite, worm castings and maybe some orchid bark. Does that sound like a good combo for philos??
@TJphilobsessed sounds like a great soil!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your new profile picture!!
@sarahsalith awww thank you! I figured that all of you Greggers are my friends now and my #plantfamily so I might as well let everyone see me and not just my dog Daizy. Although…she’s much cuter. πŸ˜‚πŸΎ
@sarahsalith right!? 😁 And about the hashtag… it does the same thing for me. πŸ˜‚ @TJphilobsessed thank you!!! What I thought. 😊
@TJphilobsessed haha I like it too!! And daizy is an adorable name!
Pretty πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
She's gorgeous 😍
@tmbryant37 thank you! I love her. 😁πŸͺ΄ @kscape thanks! β™₯️
@tango sorry was multi-tasking but she’s honestly gorgeous 😍 totes a steal!!
@kscape oh no worries!! 😁 thank you so much!
Feel this in my soul. I’m constantly looking for new plants haha
@DevotedMugwort 🀣 me too!
Like…I want colorful or flower indoor plants but all of them are green that I find haha
@DevotedMugwort inspiration! 😊
@tango ahh thank you! What’s that second one? With the pink and green vibrant!
@DevotedMugwort philodendron pink princess! Used to be realoy expensive but doen to $50-85 rn… I got mine for $8 mispriced and almost dying but she survived!
@tango that’s amazing
@DevotedMugwort haha that’s what I thought. 😁 Glad you like her! It’s taken a few months to get to this point but it was entirely worth it. Great plant, I definitely reccomend!
Oh wow ur burgundy is beautiful. I find indoormix on its own is tpo heavy for most aroids including philodendrons. You would need to amend it with more chunky stuff.
What a find,she is so worth all the cleaning
@Sleepysunday thank you!! That sounds very helpful, I think I’m going to repot in a week or 2, once I find a good pot and buy the right soil!
@DashingGray if only I could get the spots off… πŸ₯² but someday yes!!!! 😊
