Good morning everyone. It’s going to be another hot one in West Central Florida today. I got up at 6:30 AM and finished mowing the front of my property. I’m now sitting in a chair outside eating a banana and drinking some coffee. I planted this banana last year and it was doing very well. Then a, very unusual, frost hit Florida in January. It was unusual because we had two weeks in a row of freezing and below freezing weather. In my 48 years of living in Florida, I’ve not seen that much cold weather at one time. I covered the banana bush multiple times with multiple blankets. Despite all that the frost killed it all the way down to the ground level. This is another plant that I thought I had lost. I cut off all the dead stuff mulched it into the dirt around the plant. Now it is doing very well. I haven’t added it to my oasis until today. Thank you for reading this mini blog.
