Fungus Gnat Muncher!๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿด
Just some photos of the sticky leaves of a Cape Sundew with some gnats caught, the plant can even curl its leaf to help it hold and digest the bugs.
They make great additions to have around your other indoor plants which is why I bought them in the first place when I had a fungus gnat infestation. They help keep the numbers down.
The only catch is they need the same conditions as other carnivorous plants, low mineral water and soil. A great carnivorous plant for any beginner! #carnivorousplants #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict

Do these guys like a lot of humidity? Iโ€™ve always been curious about carnivorous plants but Iโ€™m not confident Iโ€™ll keep them alive in my conditions. Love these!
They do like humidity but they can generally adapt to the average humidity of a house (eg 50%). Lower than 40% and they may struggle. So let's say they prefer good humidity. If you want to try a carnivorous plants, these are probably the best beginner plant (either these or VFT๐Ÿชฐ). If you find a Cape Sundew, it is worth trying out. The main thing is low mineral soil and water (rain/distilled) and good light. Don't give up on them if they die back, so long as the rhizome is healthy, they will come to life. I have some in my kitchen under a growlight, no outside light and the photos are from them (not particularly humid).
They look super cool!!
@SilkenGrasspea almost forgot, but the dewy leaves is a sign of good humidity but it's a good idea not to spray their leaves too much as it washes off their dew. You can even feed them eg fish flakes if there are no nasty fungus gnats to eat.
@VipSeraphina they are super cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž, but then I am biased ๐Ÿ˜‰
@Seymour awesome! Thank you so much! This makes me feel less nervous.
