@princesspitstop What a sweet little spider plant!!
@mtplantlady Thanks! I can't wait until the exposed roots turn GREEN and PLUMPY ๐๐๐๐๐
@BraveRanunculus Beautiful! Look at how tall she's standing! Bright indirect light but I don't think light is the issue with yours. I have a couple of them and mine had brown tips I changed its light it's watering schedule everything but the problem ended up being the tap water that I was giving it! Try either rainwater or distilled water or even if you're going to use tap water leave it out overnight so that the chlorine and whatever else is in it can dissipate. Trim the brown tips off and try changing the water and see if that works. Oh yeah also make sure that there isn't a draft like a fan or an AC or a heater or anything blowing on it too. ๐
@princesspitstop ๏ฟผ the water I use sits out in a little watering ๏ฟผ container. I probably need to try the distilled water and thank you. Iโve had her for a while.
@BraveRanunculus ok yeah try that. If that's not it check the humidity. Now that it's winter heaters dry out rooms. Sometimes you just have to play with things to see what the issue might be. It's unfortunate that they can't talk to us lol your Purple Heart is beautiful too!
@SteffyHazPlants Thanks Stef! ๐
@princesspitstop it would be so much easier if they could. Thank you
@Gabiblocatelli Cool! You'll have to post some pictures! I'd love to see it!
Ooh ๐ฎ ve been meaning to try this with one of my spider pups!! Except they got demolished by thrips over the summer! ๐ญ
Funnily enough, my spider started browning at the tips when I STOPPED giving her tap water because I got a clean filter jug! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฃ But then Scottish tap water is literally the best in the world! ๐ช ๐คฃ
That said... Its only the variegated one that's suffering!... My green spider is just fine! ๐คทโโ๏ธ Who the hell knows lol, I think Spider is just trying to keep me on my toes (she's almost as old as I am so .. I guess she's entitled! ๐คฃ) x

@teacher12 Thanks Laura! ๐
@JenniB81 Hi Jenni! ๐ That's completely opposite from mine! The tap water here in San Antonio is HORRIBLE. I won't even give it to my doggies. You should bottle it and put it online! Yes! You should try it however, I might have taken the soil off of the roots a little too soon. The juicy ones are starting to dry up but the plant is still ok. I'm going to have to play with it to see how to keep that from happening. ๐คท๐ค
Ooh I saw a cool video on insta about a good way to do it... If you fill your pot with soil, then cut the bottom off a plastic pot (like a yogurt pot or the like), place it on top of the soil in you pit and will THAT with soil and then plant your baby spider in it... The roots will grow down from one pot into the other then you cut it off and knock the soil away gently... And you have a Spidey bonsai ๐ฅฐ not sure I explained that terribly well ๐ I'll see if I can find it for you! It was a while ago but I may have saved it! ๐ค
I've actually been to SanAn! Though I never tried the tap water ๐๐ the river walk (not far from the Alamo I think?) really beautiful ๐ฅฐ lucky you! Xx

@JenniB81 Yes! ๐ I live about 15 minutes away from the Riverwalk. We've lived here for about 2 years and haven't gone there a whole lot. Probably should visit it more often. Yes I saw that same video and I did that and I cut the cup off and dusted the soil away to expose The Roots. But I think I might have exposed the roots a little too soon. The video didn't really tell you how long to keep it in the cup. I mean it looks good I don't know we'll just have to keep an eye on it.
@elisenavidad Thanks Elise! It took me forever to find the right pot. โบ๏ธ The problem is the rocks make the pot super heavy and now I can't tell when it needs water lol
@princesspitstop hahahaha oh shoot that is a bit of a predicament ๐ youโll have to get a bamboo skewer or something!
@elisenavidad lol already done ๐
@princesspitstop I have one that sits up on the soil been worried. You mean I can leave them exposed ๐คฏ
@Pittyplantlover I started this one about a month ago from a Spider pup. I grew him in a plastic cup filled with soil until the roots developed, removed the cup and gently dusted off the soil from around the roots and that's what was left. He's still doing good so yeah I guess you can. Over time the roots will toughen up from air exposure.๐๐ Google Spider Plant Bonsai.
@BraveRanunculus I use a de-chlorinated (same thing as for aquariums) to treat my tap water and it gets great morning light. Treating the water can be more economical than buying distilled water. Jerri is finally happy now and brown tips are gone.
@GreenPurpose Thanks! I just answered your question on when they have babies! Lol
