Prim is finally getting her long-needed upgrade (again). Anxious to see her reactionπ
But she has been good to me before, so fingers crossed she will be happy and continue her super-growtπ€πͺπͺ΄

@Blueberrypie thank you π€© She is getting so big so fast. Her new leaves are so huuge compared to her first ones. Adding a pic of her 1 year ago. And her leavesπ
Your #RoseCalathea is looking gorgeous and erect! My leaves are drooping and Iβm not sure why
@JennRugg thank you π
Oh droopyness can be caused by so many things π They can be such divas.
Looking in your plant oasis it is Rosie, the Medallion, yes? If she gets 1-3 hours direct sunlight that might be a contributionπ€ They usually don't like direct sunlight. I just had to move Prim recently, as she got too much light and her new growth turned paleπ€·ββοΈ
Could be drafts or temperature changes too.
And older leaves will have some less "stiffness" in them.

@JennRugg doesn't look that bad. But she is definitly a little cranky about something π
You might have to just try to change something and see if it helps, and fail and try something elseπ
Some of my calatheas look like this too now after the winter, as I haven't been that good with regular wateringπ And some have gotten a little too much light and warmth and some a little too littleπ

@MockingJay so helpful thank you!
@PetHouseleeks it depends on time of yearπ In summer the sun doesn't come in the windows at all as it is so high in the sky and we have low roof. So at that time she stands about 0,5meters from the south window (probably 1m from direct sun?).
As the sun gets lower during fall and winter she does get some direct sunlight, but I try to move her away when it is all sunny outside (it is usually cloudy during fall, and in winter the sun is weak here).
I had to move her to another spot this spring though, as the sun got too strong and I saw the new leaf she was trying to unfold got all pale. I just moved her beside another south window instead, without direct sun, and after a few days she got the color back on her new leafπ±
Photo of her usual spot by the big window. And the spot she is on now as the sun is still too strong.

@PetHouseleeks if it is Elle in your plant oasis and it is true she does not have drainage? That might be a contribution as they are prone to root-rot. They are also very sensitive to accumulations in the soil and you can't flush out excess minerals and salts when there is no drainage.
I always water mine with rainwater (as my tap-water is hard and rainwater is closer to the ph they want), and water until it drains so no build-up in the soil πͺ΄

@JennRugg my brat pack doesnβt even like being that close to a window and, of course, letβs not even talking about trying to keep humidity to their liking, Iβm fortunate they somewhat compromise lol. I absolutely love this species of plants but I know when Iβve met my match #Calathea #Goeppertia but Iβve got my last couple random ones. They are going pretty good (my #CalatheaFreddie) is doing well which blows my mind.
@MockingJay @JennRugg winter and snow.. thatβs rare in my areaβ¦such beauty right there.
@MockingJay i moved her away from the window π
@JesssJungle thank youπ₯°
