Help my baby has thrips 😭. That’s her time out corner πŸ˜†. Have yall had luck with spinosad ? . #Monstera #thrips. Online says to wash the plant ??
I try not to use anything that could get into the water system and hurt bees or ocean life.

You can use pure neem oil (not a store bought, pre-mixed sorta thing) if you want something budget friendly and doable. However it does involve spraying every three days for 6 weeks. The recipe for the safest, most natural pest killer is:

-1 Tablespoons pure neem oil
-1/2 teaspoon Castile soap (I like peppermint dr bronners) mixed together in
-32 oz (4 cups/almost 1 liter) water

You do need to mix up a fresh batch every time because neem starts to lose efficacy after 8-12 hours (this is also why store-bought neem sprays don’t seem to work at all).

OR, and this is the only method I use nowadays:

Beneficial insects. They are the BEST. No chemicals, no dangerous mixing, just helpful lil critters eating the bad critters for you.

Go to https://dmvbeneficials.com It is a nation-wide beneficials service. They will give you a free consultation and advice, and keep your budget in mind.

Do not hesitate to ask any other questions or reach out for anything else β™₯️
@DreamMachine thank you πŸ™Œ
@Crys_lynn do you have other plants? Unfortunately, because thrips can crawl, jump, and fly, there is no safe space to quarantine from other plants in your place. The thrips will find them. Washing down the plants first is good practice, before using your treatment. You can also use yellow sticky cards to catch the adults, but sticky traps won’t be successful on their own without other treatment.
@DreamMachine οΏΌyes we do have a lot of plants 😭. We haven’t seen anything on the other ones, but we’re going to treat them all just in case. They are white colored at the moment. I haven’t seen any adults yet. Pinkies crossed. 🀞 I just got a new monstera too that was close to that one 😭
