Hey I just got this aloe plant from the library a couple days ago, and it isn’t doing to good. What’s going on with her? How can I get her back to health? #HappyPlants #NewPlants #AloeVera #help
definitely not a plant expert so correct me if I’m wrong, i believe aloe don’t like to be watered very much, so my guess is an overwatering issue. in my experience i have aloe in my garden that grows wild under my porch that i’ve never watered before that are doing great!
@BetterKatsura68 oh yeah the soils been damp since I got it. Should I repot it with dry soil?
@SolidCowbane22 that’s what i would say! make sure you have a succulent mix soil and drainage holes at the bottom of your pot! also make sure it’s getting lots of sun as it’s a desert succulent!
Repot with a chunky, well draining soil. I would use a terracotta pot, they absorb the excess moisture which helps if you overwater and let soil completely dry out before watering again, and even then you can go a little longer without watering, they don’t get mad if you skip a watering. They love direct sunlight
I use cactus/succulent soil and Perlite- a 50/50 mix. When you repot- they say do not water for a week- but you’re an hour south of me so wait maybe 4 days before watering in this heat. Terracotta pot with drainage- bright indirect light.
