So heii it's 6 in the morning I wake up and go straight to take my dog out so it can pee and when I m back I see something I didn't want to see.
My plant was on the ground 😭.At first I thought it t was Alexa's doing she my dog but when I took a closer look it looked kinda fishy . U see the stem exactly above the soil were being eaten by something,a bug(?). I have attached it's photo. I quickly took out the plant (there were also small babies) and started searching for more bug 🐛 and there were several of them . I Donno what to do It's been like 4 days since I brought it out hoping for more sunlight and this happens. @InformedPecan7 Your plant was attacked by curl grubs or cutworms they chew through stems right at the soil line, causing sudden collapse…. These pests live in moist soil and come up at night to feed. Moving the plant outside likely exposed it to a fresh batch of these underground munchers…. You’re in propagation mode now don’t bother replanting the old base…Do this ASAP 1st Snip off clean, healthy stem pieces (2–3 inches long)….Let them callous over for 1–2 days (dry air, shade)…Then stick them in dry, well-draining soil (like cactus mix or perlite blend).
Wait. No water for 3–5 days, then mist lightly every few days. Keep in bright indirect light, not sun.
Just to be safe Dust the cut ends with cinnamon or rooting hormone to prevent rot and encourage roots. Oh and throw the soil away it’s infested…Your plant’s gone from “help me” to “clone me.” You’ve got a second shot so don’t be heartbroken we all are with you keep us posted.

@JungleDreamer Thank you so much for your comment. I had other plants near that pot would they have like crawl and attack them?? I did as you said . I threw the soil out and now I'm snipping their stems. I like to propagate and gift new plants to my friends who care about plants so I have few of these plants (Donno their names🥹) . I am still upset it was the first one I got , I propagated everyone after/from this. I'll try my best to save it and post after I re pot them in 2 days
@InformedPecan7 Aww Ashwini, I feel you First plant heartbreaks hit different especially when it’s your OG baby who started the whole plant fam….But look at you go…snipping, saving, and propagating like a total plant wizard. That’s pure…plant parent resilience
Pests might spread if the vibes (a.k.a. soil or humidity) are just right, but if you’ve tossed the soil and isolated the others, you’re already winning the battle. Can’t wait to see your plant rehab glow up post in 2 days you’ve got this, and we’re all cheering for your leafy comeback.
