It’s a cloudy morning here on the coast in San Diego ☁️ 🌫️ the typical May Grey which will soon become June Gloom 😶🌫️🫣. It is actually very nice because I can leave plants in the sunny spots all day without worrying about harsh rays ☀️ ☀️ ☀️, until mid-July 🤪. In all the fog and grey however, there is a shining star 🌟 today… the Copper Queen orchid blooms popped open!🎉👍 Hopefully the pics are not sideways! Have you noticed any fixed glitches? I see the camera/photo library selection is bigger now and easier to select, that’s good news 📰!!🙌. BUT editing is horrible! I can’t get the cursor to work properly, not all the time but a lot, and especially if an emoji is involved 😳😮🙀. Any way…. with the long weekend it’s been a little quiet in Gregland 🤫😶😴. @MariansOasis That orchid is indeed a QUEEN! Wow, so beautiful 🤩 We’re out of town for the long weekend and will head home midday today, early enough for me to water the oasis before going back to work tomorrow.

@DreamMachine wow Haystack Rock 🪨 is awesome!! It’s huge!!! Yes, do tell what you find in the tide pools. We used to wander the tide pools a lot especially when our daughter was young. Love “…if a peach was an orchid “ 😊💛🧡

@MariansOasis Yes, I am amazed!!!! This plant plus one other orchid plant were given to me by a friend at work when she left that position. This was at least 2 years ago. This is the first bloom I have had from them.

I appreciate your heart-felt message about veterans and Memorial Day and hope that our homeless and suffering veterans can receive benefits and the help they need.
We've had a rainy 🌧 long weekend but it was much needed, not only for Nature, but to wash away the thick coating of yellow pollen off of our cars!
Your flowers 💐 😍 💛 are soooo beautiful!
We don't have any blossoms or blooms to share with ya'll but good news is that The Tribe is healthy and all growing like crazy!
There's still one-fourth to be repotted and they're waiting as patiently as possibly but every once in a while I'll hear a little peep from Ivy or Pathos saying: "Don't forget us mom! We're starting to feel cramped and also need some new soil full of fresh goodies!"

@MariansOasis it IS huge! It’s really fun watching all the birds that live on it 🤗 There are tufted puffins, common mure, cormorants, western gulls, black oystercatchers 🦪 (although I think they should be called black musselcatchers instead 😅) among others. It’s quite interesting to me that they all have their own real estate areas; like the puffins come back to their burrows on the grassy sloped north side every year 🥹, whereas the cormorants nest on the southern rocky cliff side.
It was absolutely pouring all morning, but it’s clearing out AND low tide is about to happen 🙌⛅️

There is a marvelous driftwood 🪵 fort someone made on the beach. On my earlier (and very wet 🌧️ ) morning walk I had to pop in there for a bit for a brief respite 😅

@DreamMachine oh now im definitely putting Haystack Rock 🪨 as a destination 🙌. I LOVE birds 🦅🦆🦜🐥🦢🐧🕊️🦉 😊 Lots of different birds than I would see here, on a beach will be a fabulous adventure! And a driftwood fort?!? 🪵🏰 how fun is that!!
