Local Grocery Store coming in Clutchβ€¦πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜

I was at the store this weekend and I saw TWO plants I had to grab. One I have never heard of or seen, the Jungle Vine- which reminds me of small little alocasia on a vine with purple backing- and the Goldfish plant I have been keeping an eye out for. Here’s to hoping I don’t un-alive them buying them on a whim! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #JungleVine #GoldfishPlant #PlantTherapy #PLANTMAFIA #itrunsinthefamily

@TheOddAsity If it’s anything like the one I had, the jungle vine will grow like a (wonderful) weed!
I gave mine too much light, then not enough. First photo is when I bought her in Nov β€˜21 before leaf loss.
Other two are from Oct β€˜22. You can see the larger leaf losses but also how it was now almost double the length of my bath which is 70” long!!
It had wound around the chains it hung from and over a beam in the bathroom. It lived the humidity but didn’t get enough light.
It’s a true jungle plant, humidity, bright indirect light and something to climb are what mine wanted.
I do miss her, it was a rough one to lose so learn from my huge cockups!! πŸ₯ΉπŸͺ¬
@TheOddAsity Great finds!
@debbiedo thank you! I’m tucking your indoor climbing trellis in my back pocket in case I need it! πŸ˜‚
@TheOddAsity Oh yes, that Jungle Vine might need it!
@MothGoblin oh my goodness!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I will definitely try and learn. I have mine in my bathroom right now until I can repot her. I have 2 perpendicular windows- northwest and northeast. I do run a humidifier in there in addition to the showers.

So do they prefer to hang or to climb?
@TheOddAsity They prefer to climb and will give you larger leaves if they can root into the climbing support. Mine only had chains and a painted beam so couldn’t root. It will climb a trellis or a moss pole, but will thrive better on a moss pole.
They prefer to be a little rootbound so only repot if really necessary. Root rot and fungus issues can follow repotting into too big a pot.

I’m sure you two are going to
to be best buds for a looooong time, April 😁 πŸͺ¬
HELLLL YEAH IM SO GLAD YOU GOT THEM!! That jungle vine is suuuweeetttt!!
